08:00 – 08:30 AM: Car and tour guide pick you up at hotels in the Old Quarter and Opera House area and depart to visit:
Duong Lam Ancient Village, a typical ancient village of the Northern Delta region. You pass through the ancient village gate, visit Mong Phu village communal house, Lady Mia palace, Tham Hoa Giang Van Minh church, Mia pagoda – The pagoda has the most ancient Buddha statues in Vietnam. You walk along the village, visit ancient houses and enjoy specialties: sticky rice wine and sweet soup.
Lunch at the restaurant, rest. In the afternoon, continue to visit:
Son Tay Ancient Citadel: was built in the 3rd year of Minh Mang (1822) and is the only ancient citadel built of laterite in Vietnam with unique architecture such as: walls made of laterite, 4 gates built of ancient bricks. This is one of the few citadels from the Minh Mang dynasty remaining today, the citadel was solidly built to protect the northwest of Thang Long.
Khai Nguyen Pagoda: also known as Tan Vien Pagoda, full name is Tan Vien Son Quoc Tu. The pagoda’s history dates back to the Ly Dynasty in the first half of the 11th century. Because it was built on the old foundation, following the old architecture but newly renovated since 2008, the pagoda has a very unique ancient mark, without destroying the space and historical value.
